This Bara Sushi (barazushi or tossed sushi) recipe is not only simple and delicious, it can be whipped up in a snap!
Notes
For a healthier alternative, use brown rice or a combination of brown and white rice.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Vinegar
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 2 cups Rice, raw uncooked white medium grain
- 1/4 cup Carrots, grated
- 1/2 cup Green Beans, French cut
- 1 1/2 oz. Shiitake Mushrooms, cut into strips
Instructions
- Mix sugar and salt with vinegar until dry ingredients have fully dissolved. Set aside.
- Cook rice and mix together with vinegar sauce. Set aside to cool.
- Steam grated carrots, green beans and shiitake mushrooms until tender.
- Add vegetables to prepared sushi rice.
