This recipe has been adapted from an original recipe by Doug Peterson (1976 & 1980 Olympian, Cross-Country Skiing), featured in the Hawaii State Department of Health’s “5 A Day the Hawaiʻi Way – Easy island recipes” cookbook.
Notes
You may use all rolled oats or rolled wheat flakes with this recipe.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 tsp (1 packet) Yeast, Active Dry
- 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
- 1/4 cup Rye Flour, medium
- 1/3 cup Bran Flakes
- 1/3 cup Rolled Oats
- 1/3 cup Rolled Wheat Flakes
- 2 Eggs, whole medium
- 12 oz. Beer, heated to 110-115 degrees
Instructions
- Microwave beer on high for 1 minute and 50 seconds.
- Add all ingredients into a bread machine and set machine to a whole wheat cycle.
